"When in JB, I definitely must eat this Teohchew style kwehteow kia. Otherwise, it's like I have not visited JB yet. And this Fuk Ling Yen restaurant has to me the best kwehteow kia in JB!! Love the pork innards, no gamey smell at all. The duck meat is also very tender. All the meats were stewed till perfectly tender. So delicious!! The soup base is light, not too strong herbal flavour. Perfect for my taste. Enjoyed it very much, this food that is unique to Johor."

"與家人一起來吃午餐。 停車方便,店內沒有什麼客人。 提供點餐單抅選食品,上桌快速不需久等。 粿條湯味道較清淡,鹵肉就沒什麼特別但份量多。另外咖啡是蠻濃厚好喝。"

"拼盘 (有内脏) 1人份 1 Person Set (With Intestines) = RM9.00 1 Bowl of Kway Teow = RM2.00 No Service Charges This is quite a Large Eatery that looks like it has been around for some time already. Non-Airconditioned but still Airy and Windy. The Staffs are Friendly and Welcoming. Review of the Chilli Condiment This had a Deep Crimson Look as you can see from the Photo. At first taste, it has a Noticeable Robust Flavour. It isn't Spicy, more Saltish and a Slight Vinegary. However, the Spiciness is the Type that will Slowly, Slowly Intensify on your Tongue. The Spiciness never intensify until it bites Super Painfully type, but it certainly lets its Presence felt Clearly. This Spice Level is probably ok for anyone who is used to Spicy, but People who cannot take even a little bit of Spicy might not be able to tahan this Level. Deep and Robust, this is a Good Solid Chilli for KTK. The KTK Soup Broth There is a Nice Savoury Braised Aroma and it isn't the Herbal type, More of a Braised Version. Hot, Savoury and Warming, it is Saltish but Not Overly So. Decent Robust Braised Taste that doesn't taste Watered Down. One thing I really like are the Presence of Tiny Bits of Crispy 猪油渣 Fried Pork Lard which is seldom seen in KTK Broth like this and I thought they were probably the Reason why this Broth had a Solid Fragrance to it. Quality of the KTK Noodles. I feel these are probably from a Package. But despite that, I felt they were Smooth and Silky in Texture and Slides down my Throat Easily. Amount given is not alot but I feel is just about right for 1 Person. The Main Meat Platter Compared to other KTK Meat Platter, I feel there are Not alot of Braised Sauce on it. The Sauce itself is Salty but in a Good Tasty Way. Pork Belly Meat This had a Noticeable Elevated Level of Porkiness. If this is something that concerns you, you need to take note of it. I thought the Combination Taste of both Meat and Fat works well to give it a Nice Porky Fatty Meaty Chew. Nice Tasting but as I mentioned, do take note that the Porkiness in this is somewhat Elevated than Usual. Pork Intestine Cuts Soaked Well with that Braised Sauce, they taste Clean. Surprisingly I thought the Porkiness for these felt More Subdued compared to the Pork Belly. Perhaps the Salty Braised Sauce soaked in alot more with this one. If you enjoy Intestines with your KTK/Kway Chap, these were Decent Tasting. Pork Stomach Slices Nice Tender, Slightly Bouncy Chew. Clean Tasting and Meaty, this one doesn't have any Porkiness at all. If you enjoy Pork Stomach Cuts, you will probably have no issues with this one I reckon. Braised Egg I'm actually quite impressed that they included a Whole Egg in this Set. That said, it is a Small Egg. Abit Dryish but Overall Standard Taste as how you'd expect it to taste. Tofu Taupok This is of course the "Sponge" of the Dish. Cut in Relatively Thickish Slices, biting into them releases the Satisfying and Intensely Salty Braised Sauce. Its Salty but in a Good Way. The Taupok itself is Soft, Tender and the Tofu-ness isn't too Overpowering. Conclusion and Closing Thoughts At the Total Combined Price of RM11.00 (S$3.40) for everything in this Set that I ordered here was a Very Reasonable Price for the Quality and Amount of Items given. Kway and Soup Broth taste Decent and I thought the Salty Braised Sauce they lum in the Meat Platter did alot of the Heavy Lifting and supported all the Ingredients well. What I especially LOVE is how Hassle-Free it is to Order a 1-Person Set in this Place. No Confusion, No Anger, No Frustration. Staffs were Polite and Friendly. I wish I had known of this place earlier. If you are ok with a KTK that is of the Non-Herbal Braised Variety, and is ok with a Slightly Elevated Level of Porkiness, I can recommend to give this place a try. Thanks for Reading.
